Have you started planning for the summer? If your to-do list includes lots of visits to waterparks, make sure to include Illinois’ largest in those plans!! Kicking off their 10th season this year, Raging Waves Waterpark features 20 water slides (some thrilling, some tame), a wave pool, multiple kiddie areas and a quarter-mile long lazy river. Find out what’s new this year and why you’ll want to add a visit to your summer bucket list.

What’s new?

Kookaburra Kreek Lazy River

The quarter-mile Kookaburra Kreek Lazy River will feature a large shipwreck that sprays water as you float on by. You will also find a trophy shark catch, large boulders, tranquil waterfall and statues of the Kookaburra bird which is native to Australia.

Wonambi

It may have debuted last year but Wonambi is still worth a mention. Imagine feeling weightlessness in a four-person raft while hitting high speeds, near vertical heights and zero gravity moments. The award-winning water ride is the only ride in the Midwest that features the ProSlides TornadoWAVE.

On-site eats

After working up an appetite, you can visit one of the on-site restaurants. The park will be adding more food kiosks this year with delicious eats like funnel cake sundaes, ice cream floats, walking tacos, Jet’s Pizza and more!

Why you’ll want to go

Thrilling rides

Wonambi, The Three Sisters, PJ’s Plummet, Tasmanian Twisters … Just the names of some of these attractions will get your heart pumping.

Great for littles

With its zero-depth entry, sprinklers and two small slides, Koala Kove is great for babies to the preschool set. Kids will love Kangaroo Falls with water hoses, water cannons and a huge tipping bucket.

Parents can have a blast

You don’t need to take a step back to enjoy the park. Float as a family down the lazy river, jump on a waterslide or catch the waves at the wave pool.

Safety is a priority

The park prides itself on safety and that is evident with how the lifeguards pay attention to all visitors.
