Get Your Kicks on Route 66 with a stop at the Joliet Area Historical Museum.  Start your visit in the highly interactive Route 66 Experience exhibit and then tour the permanent exhibit, The Soaring Achievements of John C. Houbolt, to learn the role that Joliet played in the lunar landing of 1969. Make sure you visit the Houbolt Resource & Discovery Room for hands-on activities for the kids. Finish your visit by trying to land on the moon in our step-in Lunar Lander Simulator. The Special Exhibit Gallery features rotating exhibits.
